What is Hiraeth?
“Hiraeth” is a Welsh word whose essence translates to a deep longing.
Hiraeth Discoveries is a place where all are welcome to explore what is deep within, the longings that call for our attention, nurture, and affection. Rooted in the principles of ancient and modern Celtic spirituality, we invite you to discover yourself anew.
Our Foundation
Much has been written about Celtic spirituality, both pre-Christian and Christian. It offers an invitation into a worldview of landscapes, the physical ones beyond us and the inner written within our souls and spirits.

Pre-Christian Druid influences emphasized education, wisdom, communal life, poetry, beauty, and an intimate connection with nature. Families lived in circular dwellings, gathering in shared spaces for prayer and community.

Early Celtic Christian traditions carried forward these values, nurturing reflective practices, communal monastic life, education, prayer, self-reflection, and responsibility to all of creation.
We believe God, by many names, has placed this longing within us. This hiraeth is a home waiting to be discovered.
